Esther Geraldine Meyer-Kruse

MEYER-KRUSE, Gerry, age 75 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011. Gerry graduated Valedictorian from Madeira High School, Cincinnati in 1954 and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton in 1971. She retired as an accountant for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra where she continued on as a volunteer and board member and was a Past President of the DPVA. Gerry was also a member of the New Neighbors League and P.E.O. Chapter DS where she served as Past President. Gerry loved to dance, play bridge, travel and spend time with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Robert G. Meyer; her daughter, Catherine Jane Meyer; and parents, Martin and Josephine Bishop. Gerry is survived by her current husband, Richard K. Kruse, Jr.; daughters, Susan (Bill) Whalen of Spring Valley, OH, Jeanette (Thom) Fladung, of Hudson, OH and Jane (Morgan) McChesney of TN; grandchildren, Adam and Colleen Whalen, Kayleigh and Jimmy Fladung and Rob, Catherine, Michael, Sarah, Lizzy and Jessica McChesney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 27 at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45459. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service, from 9:30-10:30am at the church. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation, P.O. Box 273, Suffern, New York 10901 to help fund research and find a cure for her grandson, or to The Castle, 133 North Main Street, Centerville, OH 45459.
