Esther Phyllis Bender

BENDER, Esther P. (Walsh), age 81, formerly of Kettering, passed away peacefully Friday, March 22, 2019. She was born December 30, 1937 in Boswarlos, Newfoundland, Canada to George and Dorothy Walsh.

She married the love of her life, Kenneth M. Bender, in May of 1961 who preceded her in death in 2014. She was an avid gardener, who loved playing bingo and the slots, and spent numerous hours searching for the ultimate treasure at local thrift stores. Her heartfelt hugs, love of the color red, and famous meatloaf are just a few of her legacies.

Beloved mother of Kenneth "Butch" Bender, Jr., Robin (Craig) Penno, and Dee Bender; grandchildren, Matthew, Erika, Victoria (Thomas), and Kaden; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Gwendolynn.

Visitation will be held at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E Stroop Rd., Kettering, on Thursday, March 28th from 9:00-10:00am with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo at 10:30am. Internment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
