Ethel Marie Weeks

age 99 of Beavercreek, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001. Ethel was involved in many social and business activities throughout her life. After graduation from high school, she taught 8 grades in a one room schoolhouse in the Trotwood school system. She was a founding member of the Kettering Senior Citizens at Christ United Methodist Church and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. For 14 years she was a manager of the dining room at the Dayton Art Institute where she served the students in addition to many luncheons, banquets and wedding receptions. On certain special affairs she had the pleasure of serving many local personalties such as Orville Wright, E.A. Deeds ,Fred Rike, John Patterson and Mrs. Carnell, donor of the Art Institute. Later, along with her husband she had a very successful Real Estate business. She was very devoted to her family and said many times late in her life that she did not want to leave this life because she wanted to be with her kids. Her family gives thanks to God for giving Mom so many extra years to share with us. Preceded in death by her husband Clifford in 1973; 4 sisters and a brother. Survived by her son Roland and his wife Pinkie; daughter, Marlene Harding; son, Bud and his wife Marge; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering with Rev. Allen L. Puffenberger officiating. Burial in David's Cemetery.
