GIBSON, Eugene Thomas, age 67, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 after a nearly 20-year dance with cancer. Born in Quincy, IL, Gene got his undergraduate degree from Christian Brothers University and his MBA from Wyoming University. He spent his career serving our country, retiring as a United States Air Force Colonel. Gene was an ardent volunteer and had many passionate interests.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Brenda; son Michael (Peggy) Gibson; grandchildren Abigail and Madison Gibson; brothers Robert (Judy) Gibson, and Joseph Gibson; sisters Barbara (Paul) Emerson and Christine (Russ) Jessee; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend Sr. Florence Seifert, CPPS. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at WPAFB Medical Center and the nurses at Hospice of Dayton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 5-8pm at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 12, at 10:30am at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering, celebrant, Fr. David Brinkmoeller.
