Evelyn A. Stutz

STUTZ, Evelyn A., age 92 of Columbus, formerly of Oakwood, died Wednesday, July 25, 2000 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. She had resided at St. Raphael's in Columbus the last few years. Born in Centerville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John Reed and Eva (Lackey) Allen. Evelyn graduated from Centerville High School in 1926 and attended Wittenburg University. She was a secretary in the law offices of Albert Scherer where she met her husband, the late Ralph M. Stutz. A devout member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Oakwood since 1933, and served as secretary for twenty-four years. Evelyn was a member of P.E.O. Chapter AK, Progressive Mothers and the Dayton Women's Club. Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a daughter, Susan; her parents; 5 sisters, Edna, LaVern, Thelma, Kathleen and Myrna. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and William King of Petoskey, MI; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Katherine of Columbus; 7 grandchildren, Katherine King, Stephen King and Julia Makela of Petoskey, MI, Andrew King of Cynthiana, KY; Robert Stutz II, Elizabeth Stutz, and Theodore Stutz of Columbus; 6 great grandchildren; Hunter, Casey, Elizabeth, Jaisren, Megan and Mitchell; a sister, Vivian Gorsuch of Miamisburg; and a brother, John Reed Allen Jr., of Hendersonville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, July 31 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Ave., with The Rev. Melody S. Williams and The Rev. William Bumiller officiating. Burial in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will visit with friends in St. Paul's Cloister from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to St. Paul's Book of Remembrance, 33 W. Dixon Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45419 or to St. Raphael's, 1550 Roxbury Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43212.
