Evelyn L. Shafor

SHAFOR, Evelyn L., age 89 of Kettering, passed away, Monday, December 16, 2002. She was a life long member of Oak Street United Methodist Church. Evelyn was also a member of the Eastern Star and for many years, she and her late husband, Ross, were avid squaredancers and members of a pinochle club with a circle of close friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ross L. Shafor, in May 2000; her parents, Charles and Emma Riesinger; sisters, Marie and Grace and brothers John and Herb. Survived by her son, Thomas R. Shafor and his wife, Ann, of Spring Valley; 2 daughters, Linda K. Shafor of California and Sally J. Tipton of Centerville; 3 grandchildren, Aaron Shafor of Spring Valley, Casey Boardwine and her husband, Todd, of Kettering, and J.R. Tipton of Michigan. Evelyn is also survived by her sister, Thelma Powell, of Greenville, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 20, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Rev. Eric M. McGlade officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4-7:00 PM on Thursday evening in the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
