Evelyn T. Hardwick

HARDWICK, Evelyn Teresa, age 79, died peacefully in her Washington Township home on August 13, 2012. Beloved wife for over 60 years of Joseph and loving mother of Karen Beckett (Richard), Joseph Hardwick, Jr. and David Hardwick (Laura). Preceded in death by parents Christian and Martha Schafer, and daughter, Janet Price (Lance). Evelyn was a wonderful grandmother to Colleen, Angela, Charles, Jennifer, Lansing II, Grace, Claire and Eleanor, and great-grandmother to Katie Anne, Wyatt and Lansing III. Formerly of Akron, OH, she is also survived by siblings, Donald Schafer, Harold Schafer, Vera Anthon, Eileen Dunn and Rosemary Davis and numerous nieces and nephews. Evelyn always set a beautiful example to her entire family and her humor, intelligence and youthful exuberance will be missed every day. Evelyn enjoyed her family life, friends, bridge club, work associates, gardening, reading, traveling, and sports. She was a graduate of Central High School and Sinclair College. She furthered her Financial Management studies at the University of Dayton. Family and friends will be welcomed at Routsong Funeral Home 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 4:00-7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Church of Saint Charles Borromeo, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:30am followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton for their heartfelt care.
