F. Joseph Mcdermott

MCDERMOTT, F. Joseph, age 62, of Centerville, OH died Saturday, March 12, 2005 following a brief illness. He was a volunteer firefighter for Washington Twp. Fire Dept. since 1983 and a dispatcher for them since 1996. Born to F. Joseph and Mildred G. (Gudikunst) McDermott, on May 2, 1942, in Reading, PA. He was retired from Digital Equipment Corp. after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, F. Joseph, McDermott, sister, Louise and his first wife, Martha I. (Hungerford) McDermott in February 1989. Survived by his loving wife, Barbara “Bobi” (Thomas) McDermott; son, Scott J. (Shannon) McDermott; grandson, Max J. McDermott of Cincinnati, OH; step-children, Shane D. Yarnall of Seattle, WA, Jessica L. (Brian) Bruchey of Winter Haven, FL; mother, Mildred G. McDermott; brother Dave (Bunni) McDermott both of Reading, PA and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM, March 16, 2005 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville with Pastor Fritz Wiese officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 40 S. Perry St., Suite 120, Dayton, OH 45402-1429.
