LEWANDOWSKI, Florence T., “Flossy”, age 91 of Oakwood, Ohio, passed away in her sleep the evening of Monday, February 14, 2011. Flossy graduated from secretarial school and began working at the Hewlett Packard Car Company. After 19 years, the company closed its doors and Flossy soon got a new job at Chrysler Financial. She worked for 17 years until her retirement from them in 1976. She felt she wasn’t quite ready for full retirement, so she began work for the Federal Government. She finally retired for good at the age of 72 in 1991 after another 15 years in the workforce. She was very active playing golf and dancing. She traveled the United States, was a devoted member of the Catholic Church, and loved to shop. Preceded in death are her parents, Anthony and Veronica Lewandowski; her brothers Norbert, Eugene, Tony, and Larry; and her sister Marie. Flossy is survived by her sister-in-law, Glory Leonard; her nephews Dan Lewandowski, Robert Leonard, and Michael Leonard; and her niece Maria Higgins. Flossy is to be buried with her family in the Sacred Heart cemetery in Detroit, Michigan. She will always be remembered for her reluctance to throw anything away and her great stories of days gone by.
