Floyd Jean Cummings

CUMMINGS, Floyd Jean, age 89 of Kettering, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Floyd served his country in the US Navy during WWII and graduated from Iowa State University in 1944 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He worked for Frigidaire, where he retired after 35 years of service, and went on to work for GM Chevrolet division for 5 years. Floyd was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Moraine Country Club, the Frigidaire Retirees Club and the 39'ers club. Preceded in death by his parents, Floyd D. and Ruth Cummings. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Annabelle (nee Hershey) Cummings; sons, Christopher (Meg) Cummings of Kettering, OH and Scott Cummings of Los Altos Hills, CA; and grandchildren, Christopher, Tommy, Caroline, Eric, Todd and Scott; great-grandchildren, Evan, Madison, Morgan, Tyler and Chase; and his sister, Joan (Bill) Hobbs. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 11:00AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 33 W. Dixon Ave, Oakwood with Rev. Alan Mead officiating. A reception will follow the service at Moraine Country Club, 4075 Southern Blvd., Kettering, OH 45429. Gifts in his memory may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
