RASNAKE, Frances Ruth, age 93, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014. She was born on October 24, 1920 in Dayton to the late Lee and Ethel Keyser.
Frances was a longtime member of Hope United Methodist Church and an avid volunteer at Kettering Medical Center where she graciously donated 68, 133 hours during her 26 years there.
She received many awards including the City of Kettering Mayors Award, TV Channel 2 Citizen of the Week, a certificate from Ohio congress for volunteering, and the Kettering Medical Center Legacy Award. Frances was dedicated to helping others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Rasnake; daughter, Pat Brown; and 3 sisters, Grace, Mary, and Betty. Frances is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Mercer) Lewis of Springboro; step-son, Lester (Linda) Rasnake of Waynesville; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews throughout the United States.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00noon on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Hope United Methodist Church, 5980 Wilmington Pk., Centerville. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
