ZORNIGER, Frank E., Jr., passed away at the Sanctuary at 10 Wilmington Place on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. He was born on April 21, 1925 in Henderson, KY to the late Frank E. Zorniger, Sr. and Mary Alves Zorniger. Frank was a Veteran of WWII, proudly serving in the 86th Infantry unit in the European and Far East theaters. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Zorniger, whom he married on May 24, 1952. Frank is also survived by his children, Frank"Pete" III and wife, Kim of Dayton, Elizabeth "Betsy" Brennan Zorniger of Salt Lake City, Utah, Donald and wife, Debbie of Dayton; grandchildren, Drew, Paige, Alex Zorniger of Dayton, Ben, Ellen and Erin Brennan of Salt Lake City, Utah., Elizabeth and Jacob of Dayton. Frank was the founder of "Frank Z" Chevrolet and was a Chevrolet dealer for over 40 years. He was an avid sailor, who loved to spend his summers in Harbor Springs, Michigan and his winters at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida. Frank will be remembered as a civic leader and as a recognized local philanthropist who supported many charities, his favorite being The Cox Arboretum. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, 13 May 2008 at 11:00 AM, at St. Georges Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Ave., Centerville with The Rev. Carol Hull officiating. In lieu of flowers, it would be a fitting tribute to make memorial contributions to The Cox Arboretum, 6733 Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449 or charity of your choice.
