Franklin A. Ross

ROSS, Franklin A. age 77, of Kettering passed away Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Kettering Medical Center. Franklin was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Kettering. He was an inventor, inventing a lens for the military which could be used at great depths under the sea. Franklin served as a pilot in the US Navy during WWII where he received a silver star for heroism during the Battle of Midway. Survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Caryl Ross; 6 children, Michael S. Ross, Deborah A. Roth, Alicia F. Hasty, Cynthia J. Overholser, Michele D. Ross and Franklin A. Ross Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and brother, David Mason Ross. Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Monday, January 13, at 11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. Family will greet friends from 9-11:00 AM, Monday, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering. Franklin was a loving husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved gardening and going to the Notre Dame football games with his wife, son and grandson.
