BLAIR, Fred F., 81, of Centerville, OH, passed away on January 28, 2018.
He was born in Harlan, KY, son of the late Ward and Maggie Blair and was preceded in death by his sister Betty Ann Blair Jones. A member of Normandy United Methodist Church in Dayton, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo (Pope) Blair, their children Jean (Dwayne) Varner of Johnstown, PA; Dr. F. Ward (Jill) Blair of Springboro, OH; Jodi Blair of Miami Township, OH; Jill (Ed) Mohr of Hamilton Township, OH; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He retired in 1998 after thirty-eight years with the General Electric Company, serving in various financial management positions in Owensboro, KY; Coshocton, OH and Evendale, OH. His educational background included a degree in finance from Eastern Kentucky University and graduate work at the Finance School U. S. Army, the National Institute of Credit and Financial Management at Dartmouth College as well as numerous General Electric Company training programs including the companys Financial Management Program. Elected to Whos Who in American Colleges and Universities, he received the Fellow Award from the National Institute of Credit and Financial Management. In the army, he attained the rank of Captain serving in both Finance Corps and Civil Affairs.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Normandy United Methodist Church, Dayton, OH with Pastor Jim Riggs and Rev. Arnold McConnell presiding. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 noon.
