Fred Rodney Armstrong

age 78 of Kettering, passed away Sunday evening, Jan. 28, 2001. He was retired from Production Control Units, Inc., as Chairman and C.E.O. He was a graduate of Bath High School in Fairborn, OH. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He had served as a Trustee of the University of Cincinnati Foundation. Mr. Armstrong was a member of Michael Finnel Masonic Lodge and a Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of the Heritage Foundation of Washington, D.C,; the Presidents Clubs of the University of Dayton and Hillsdale College in Michigan; former member of the Kettering-Oakwood Exchange Club; member of the Kettering-Moraine Historical Society and the Kettering Sister City Assoc.; former member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church and a current member of David's United Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Jean, daughter Lynne Aracri and her husband Jim, and grandson, Tripp Walther, all of Kettering; sister, Ruth Ford Holycross, and brother Robert Armstrong of Enon, OH; many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Fri., Feb. 2, 2001 at David's United Church of Christ, 170 West David Rd., Kettering. Rev. William Youngkin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Engineers Club of Dayton in memory of Fred R. Armstrong, 110 E. Monument Ave., Dayton, OH 45402.
