GEISERT, Fred W., age 89, of Centerville passed away on Monday, June 24th, 2013 at Kettering Medical Center.
Fred was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and a life member of both the VFW Post #9927, and the Middletown Sportsmen's Club. After serving in the USMC, WW-II he and Vivian Smith of Dayton, OH were married. Then, after graduating from SMU with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he was employed by Northrop Aircraft and The Boeing Company.
During his working years he became a Professional Engineer, registered in the State of Washington. Following retirement and before settling in Dayton, he and Vivian, spent eight happy years touring the entire United States in a van and travel trailer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Christine Geisert and his brothers, Leonard and Raymond Geisert. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 66 years and nephews, Arthur Geisert of Bernard, IA, Stephen (Janel) Geisert of Galena, IL, Evan (Johanna Hoecker) Gray of Mutuchen, NJ, Michael (Shelly Sass) Geisert of Charlottesville, VA, Roger (Cicely) Geisert of St. Paul, MN; as well as many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main Street, Centerville. Inurnment will take place following the service in Woodland Cemetery.
