Gaston Howard, Jr.

HOWARD, JR., Gaston, age 72, of Dayton, OH., peacefully departed this life Monday, February 26, 2024, at Legacy of Kettering Skilled Nursing Facility. Born in Dayton, OH on August 7, 1951; he was the son of the late Minnie and Gaston Howard. 

Gaston loved going to church, attending concerts, music, and photography. When he lived in California for a short while, he attended many concerts and award shows where he took many photos. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his uncle’s, Cornelius (Dorothy), Cleophus (Tena), Joeseph, William Howard, and Asberry Smith; aunts, Princella Lewis, Lula Fair, Bernice Sims, and Luella English. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Wanda Howard of Dayton, OH; step-sisters, Gloria Hawkins of Altamont Springs, Florida and Diane (Eddie) Waters of Birmingham, Alabama; aunts, Jenice ‘Candy’ Dunson of Dayton, Ohio and Sumothia ‘Pat’ Howard of Springfield, Ohio; one nephew, numerous nieces; and many extended family members and friends. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 12pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH 45429. Family and friends may visit from 11am to 12pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Gaston will be laid to rest at David’s Cemetery at a later date.
