Gene R. Burgess

BURGESS, Gene R., age 77, of Norwalk, OH (formerly of Dayton) passed away Friday, October 21, 2005 at Gaymont Nursing Center, Norwalk, OH. Gene served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer 1st Class Machinist Mate and was stationed on the USS Jason during the Korean Conflict. Gene was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norwalk, OH. He was retired from NCR in Dayton and Rotary Printing in Norwalk as a Pressman. Gene was preceded in death by a sister, Arietta Craver and a brother, John. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary (nee Gross); sons, Larry (Cindy) Burgess of Kettering, and John Burgess of Norwalk; granddaughters, Lisa and Laura; sister, Rowena May Gantz and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church 218 K St., Dayton. Burial at the Veterans Administration Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Rosary prayers following the visitation.
