MOORE, George D., age 84, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008 in Dayton, OH. George was born April 18, 1924 in Dayton, OH. George was a Veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy as a SeaBee. He served over 20 years as a Sergeant with the Dayton Police Department. He was a member of the John Durst Masonic Lodge F & AM, the FOP and the Stivers High School Reunion Committee. George was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Pearl Moore, wife of 55 years Lois in 2002, brother Earl and sister Ardith Cooney. George is survived by his wife Betty (Mobley) Moore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (Jack VanWoerkom) Moore of Weston, MA and Lynn (Gary Ritchie) Moore of Mayfield Heights, OH; granddaughter, Carolyn Laufer of Manhattan, MT; two step-daughters, Terri (Jim) Gabringer , Pam Mobley and step-son Michael (Peg) Mobley all of Dayton, OH; three step-grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, OH.
