HALLER, George J., age 83, of Kettering passed away Saturday, December 10, 2005 after a brief illness. George was a life long resident of Kettering and formerly resided in Xenia, Ohio. He was a long time member of the Church of the Ascension. George was an aircraft mechanic at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and later became Space Allocations Officer for Real Estate Management in the Civil Engineering Division at WPAFB. He was a WWII veteran in the Army Air Corps, stationed in Brazil. George was involved with the American Cancer Society, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and loved playing golf with a number of close friends. George was preceded in death by his wife, Nedra, after 56 years of marriage; his parents, George, Sr. and Emma Haller; brother Bud Haller and sisters, Charlotte Hughes and Betty England. George is survived by his son, Mark and wife, Sandy Haller of Bellbrook and their children, Caitlin, Zachary, and Tori; and his daughter Lisa and husband, Mike Stabler of Fort Worth, TX and their children Karen and Chloe; sister-in-law, Evelyn Haller of Centerville; brother-in-law Paul England of Dayton. George enjoyed a close relationship with all of his nieces and nephews, especially Diane DeFelice, Theresa Oldfield, and Barbara Reed. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 16, 2005 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home at 2100 E. Stroop Road in Kettering. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday at the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, with Father Ron Combs officiating. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery immediately following the mass.
