George Joseph Muckenthaler

MUCKENTHALER, George Joseph, son of Clara and Louis Muckenthaler, born in Alma, KS on August 18, 1924, died on September 18, 2011. Preceded in death by brothers, Earl Muckenthaler, Steve Muckenthaler and Marvin Muckenthaler. Survived by wife of almost 60 years, Cecilia of Kettering, OH; two sons, Stan and wife Sue of Wamego, KS, and John and wife Kim of Kettering, OH; and one daughter, Theresa of Flower Mound, TX; four grandchildren, Angie, Joey, Mary, and Katie; siblings, Leona and Jim Dickenson of Newark, OH, Florian and Betty Muckenthaler of West Bridgewater, MA, and Ann and Mike Quaney of Wichita, KS. George grew up in Paxico, Kansas. He served in the 11th Army Division, 491 Battalion, B Battery during WWII and witnessed General George Patton directing traffic as portrayed in the movie. George obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering and Business from Kansas State University, followed by a Degree of Juris Doctor from University of Tulsa Law School. He retired from NCR after serving 22 years as a Senior Patent Attorney, and also served as President of the Dayton Patent Law Association. For the last several years, he has enjoyed his retirement assisting at Emmanuel Catholic Church, and playing golf at NCR Country Club. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 9:00AM-10:30AM at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin Street, Dayton, OH 45402, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM also at Emmanuel Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Flush, KS at a later date.
