POWELL, George “Gus” W. IV, of Kettering passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at his home. Gus was a 1971 graduate of Fairmont East High School. He was a life-time member of The Dayton Motorcycle Club. For the past 20 years, Gus was an inventory specialist for the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority. Prior to being employed at RTA, he worked for Dayton Automotive and Warehouse Paints where he developed the skill of manual paint matching. He was a member of The Vineyard Church of Beavercreek. Gus was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Marie Powell. He is survived by his wife, Denise Marie; son, George W. Powell V and his wife Susan; step-children Kevin Randall (Cami) Vest, Cheryl Lynn (Derrick) Kilby and Gary Lee (Pam) Vest; grandchildren, Ivan Vest, Ashley Dycus, Holly M. Vest, Kevin M. Vest; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Noah Dycus; father, George “Bill” W. Powell III; sisters, Rosie (Mike) Neyhouse; Barbara (Bob) Angus, Robin (Michael) Duncan; brother, Guy Powell; best friend Rod (fiancé Sue) and daughter Abigail Pummell, along with numerous family and friends. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27 at 10:00AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Andrew Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Beavertown Cemetery.
