Gerald F. Raasch

RAASCH, Gerald F. Sr., age 74, of Waynesville, OH passed away unexpectedly at his residence, Monday, April 23, 2007. He was born April 6, 1933 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to William and Mabel Raasch who precede him in death and by his brother, Gordon. Gerald spent time serving our country in the United States Navy. He graduated from Valparaiso University in 1955. His many accomplishments include; playing on the Wisconsin State High School Basketball Championship Team of 1951, being elected college football Little All American, playing for the 1955 Washington Redskins football team, and being inducted into the Valparaiso University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. Gerry was a Dayton realtor and belonged to the Dayton Area Board of Realtors for the past 39 years. He was passionate about sports, especially football and horse racing, gardening, and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis; son, Gerry Jr. (Melody); son, Erich; daughters, Lisa (Andy) Morgan and, Kristin (John) Hunt; 8 grandchildren; Thomas and Kate Raasch, Brynn, Erich and Libby Morgan, and Hannah, Jack and Olivia Hunt; sister, Doris Burmeister; sister-in-law, Dawn Raasch of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; brother-in-law, Robert C. (Margie) Woods of Elkhart, IN and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 27, 2007 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-9:00 PM at the funeral home. In memory of Gerald, contributions may be made to charity of your choice.
