Gerald L. "Jerry" Saylor

SAYLOR, Gerald L. “Jerry”, age 88, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Fairmont Senior Living Center.

A life-long resident of Centerville, he was born on September 17, 1934 to Perry Alfred and Edna Lillian Saylor. Jerry attended Centerville schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked over 40 years at Frigidaire and Harrison Radiator. He was a longtime member of Centerville Methodist Church and recently a member of Heritage Christian Church.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Perry A. Saylor; mother, Edna Lillian Kuch; step-father, Clarence Kuch; brother, Elden P. Saylor; sister, Patricia Doolan; and Sarah, his beloved cat of many years. Jerry is survived by his son, Teryle L. and his wife, Debbie Saylor; daughter, Tamera L. Henderson and her husband, Mike. Jerry had five grandchildren; Wesley Saylor of Nashville, TN, Polly Saylor of Franklin, OH, Joshua Saylor of Centerville, OH, Madelyne Templeton of Yuba City, CA, Katelyne Aguirre of Riverside, CA, and two great-grandchildren; Bentley Powell of Centerville, OH and Nathanael Aguirre of Riverside, CA, and his long-time friend and loving companion Ruth Hopkins, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will greet friends from 9:30am-11:00am Tuesday, August 29 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home. For those unable to attend, Jerry’s services will be live streamed on Routsong Funeral Home’s YouTube page. Jerry will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery.
