Gerald Thomas Sharpe

SHARPE, Gerald Thomas, age 86, formerly of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2011. He attended Kings Business College in North Carolina for three years and later worked at Dayco Products as a credit manager. Gerald was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for nearly fifty years. He was also a member of Western Ohio Water Color Society, Stardust Dance Club, and was in charge of the Little Gallery at Christ United Methodist Church for 7 years. Gerald enjoyed traveling to Vermont and along the coast of Maine. He was known as a loving, stable man who always took care of his family. Gerald was a proud army veteran where he served during WWII. Preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruth Sharpe, his sister Muriel, and brother Hal F. Sharpe. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Vallie (Murdock) Sharpe; children, Dave (Cathy) Sharpe and Emily Sharpe; grandchildren, Andy (Elizabeth), Sara, and Bryan Sharpe; and many other friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Miami Valley Hospital and Heartland of Centerville for all the care and compassion they gave to Gerald. A service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Christ United Methodist, 3440 Shroyer Road, Kettering OH., 45429 with a private committal service to follow.
