Geraldine "Gerry" Marie Wickens

WICKENS, Geraldine Marie (Martin), age 88 of Washington Township, passed away peacefully June 5, 2015 at Brighton Gardens. Gerry was born in July 1926 in Dayton to the late Walter and Marie Martin. She was a faithful Christian who served the Lord as a missionary in Africa for a few years. Gerry was a long time member of Hillside Chapel and Christian Women's Club. She also enjoyed the Young at Heart ministry at Washington Heights Baptist Church. Gerry graduated from the University of Dayton with an education degree and went on to become an elementary school teacher in Huber Heights, where she later retired. In addition to her parents, Gerry is preceded in death by her husband, Stacil Wickens; her sister, Doris Coffelt; and step-daughter, Kay Streed. She is survived by her brother, Ralph (Ruth) Martin; brother-in-law, Richard Coffelt; step-son, Wayne (Pam) Wickens; nephews, Matthew Martin, Todd (Linda) Martin; nieces, Wendy (Ray) Pike, Joy Miller; 6 great-grand nieces; 2 great-grand nephews; 5 great-great-grand nieces; 3 great-great-grand nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00am at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, OH 45459. The family will greet friends and loved ones for one hour prior (10am 11am) the same day. Burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
