age 83 of Kettering, died Wed., Sept. 26, 2001. He attended Fordham University and received his masters degree at New York University. Gerard retired as a research chemist from WPAFB in 1986 and was a holder of 12 patents in Polymer Science, was listed in the Who's Who's in America, Midwest edition, had 15 articles published in professional journals, was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and was a fellow in The American Institute of Chemists. He was a WWII Navy veteran, and a member of Emmanuel Catholic Church, NRA, the American Chemical Society, and American Legion Post 0598. Preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen in 1996. Survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Maura and Russ Foster of Annandale, VA, Kathleen ''Katie'' and Mike Koon of Silver Spring, MD and Judy and Dennis Eck of Bellbrook; a son, Gerard ''Andy'' Loughran, Jr. of Huber Heights; 8 grandchildren, Cynthia, Cathryn and Steven Foster of Annandale, VA, Kevin Koon of Silver Spring, MD, Mike and Jen Loughran of Kettering, Dan Loughran of Ft. Wayne, IN and Joe and Brian Eck of Bellbrook; and a sister, Patricia Kinsella of FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday in the Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin St., Dayton. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday in the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. If desired, contributions may be made to the Memorial and Honor Program-F, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1905.
