Gertrude Louise Henry

HENRY, Gertrude Louise, age 90, of Centerville, passed away Monday, July 04, 2011 at Bethany Village. Gert was a woman with a great sense of humor, which included her own original sayings, affectionately known as 'Gertisms' one of which was "I feel for you, but I can not reach you.". She enjoyed many things in life including her family, children, winters in Florida, golf, bridge, bowling, watching sports, collecting 4-leaf clovers and shells at the beach. Gert graduated from Roosevelt High School and was a long time member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church where she spent many hours volunteering at the school. Preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence F. Henry; parents Christopher and Dora Glaser; sister, Mary Alice Trisler; brothers Charles, Bill, Harry, and Doc Glaser and Frank Baumgardner. Gertrude is survived by her daughter Shirley (Joseph) Henry Minham; grandchildren Joe and Amy Minham; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff at Bethany Village for the wonderful care of Gert and Larry. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Alberts the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Family will greet friends from 10:00AM until 11:45AM also at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
