SICKINGER, Glen H., age 89, of Washington Township, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014. Glen was born to the late Clifford and Grace Sickinger on May 12, 1924 in Norwalk, OH.
He graduated from Edison High School in Milan, OH and received his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate in Osteopathy from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, MO. Glen served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Nehenta Bay aircraft carrier in the South Pacific during WWII. He worked as a dedicated family Physician in Dayton for many years and was a long time member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents and sons, Stephen and Bradford Sickinger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean; sons, Barton Sickinger of Orlando, FL and Robert (Tammy) Sickinger of Oakwood, OH; daughter, Lisa Sickinger of Oakwood, OH; grandchildren Christopher, Matthew and Katherine: sisters Marjorie Gliatta and Donna Brunow and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kelly Blank, Dorothy Frederickson and Minnie Tipton for all the wonderful care and support they gave to Glen.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. with a reception to follow until 3:30pm. Family will also greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In memory of Glen donations may be made to the Audubon Society of Ohio 3398 W. Galbraith Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45239 or the American Heart Association.
