WILLIAMS, Gordon Curtis, 78, passed away the 20th day of July, 2008. Born February 20, 1930 in Ithaca, NY, Gordon graduated from Choate Hall in Connecticut and returned to his hometown to attend Cornell University for his undergraduate degree in Hotel Administration. After serving in the Korean War, he returned and married Rita Jennings of Geneva, New York. He later attended the University of Chicago and obtained his masters degree in Hospital Administration. Rita and Gordon had five children, Leslie, Keith, Pam, Beth and Greg. After Rita's death in 1986, Gordon married Shirley Stubbs, and they have lived the last 21 years in the Dayton area. Gordon completed his very successful 30 year career in hospital administration as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Administration at Miami Valley Hospital. He was responsible for several major projects in the Dayton area, including the current emergency response system and the Care Flight program. A founding member of the Life Long Learning Institute at the University of Dayton, he remained active in many community and charitable affairs. Gordon is survived by his wife Shirley; his five children (above); three step-children, Susanna, Matt and Nate, 15 grandchildren; his sister Deborah Troemner; and a very special sister-in-law, Betty Heffernan. A celebration of life visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7:00PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. His memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday at the First Baptist Church, 111 West Monument Avenue with The Rev. Dr. Rodney Kennedy officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation, 31 Wyoming St., Dayton, OH 45409.
