Following his education, Greg bravely served his country in the Vietnam War, during which he was honored with a Purple Heart for his service. An avid baseball enthusiast, he dedicated years of his life as an umpire for various levels of the sport, including high school, college, and minor league games.

Greg is survived by his daughter, Heather, and son-in-law Samuel Belvo, as well as his beloved grandchildren Jensen, Juliana, Kaiden, and Joslyn Belvo. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Woodside, and niece, Sandra Hughes, and nephew Richard Hughes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Betty Woodside, and his sister, Linda Reichart. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Deborah Woodside for her unwavering support and love, as well as the Belvo family for their years of friendship.

At this time, there are no scheduled funeral services. Plans are in place to honor Greg at a future date with a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.
