H. George Pfeiffer

PFEIFFER, H. George, age 76 of Centerville; beloved husband, father and grandfather, entered into eternal rest on April 30, 2002 following a brave battle with cancer. He was born September 22, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio. He proudly served his country during WWII including 2 ½ years in the South Pacific. George worked in Huntington, W. Va. for the U.S. Corps of Engineers and married Bettie M. Hutchinson. Moving to Dayton, Ohio in 1953, he became a Sales Representative for Dayton Parts Company/NAPA and retired after 32 years of dedicated service. George was a devoted Christian and a member of Salem Lutheran, First Lutheran and currently Epiphany Lutheran Church. During his many years of membership in the Lutheran faith community, he served as a church council member, officer, and deacon. He was also a Eucharistic Minister to shut-ins and volunteered at Project Blessing (food kitchen) in downtown Dayton. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Bettie; 2 daughters and 1 son: Anne and Tom Boshinski and children Katherine and Andrew of Atlanta, GA.; Gale and Mike McRoberts and children Lynn and David of Overland Park, KS.; Matt and Cassandra Pfeiffer and children Nathan, Joshua and Danielle of Waynesville, OH; 2 loving brothers, Bill and Emily Pfeiffer of Bucyrus, Ohio and Otie and Judy Rigney of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews; Stepmother, Edna Pfeiffer of Columbus, Ohio and special cousin, Lorena Whitelaw of Dublin, Ohio. Rite of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 4 at 11:30 am. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 6430 Far Hills Ave. Internment to follow at David’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, May 3 from 6:00 –8:00 pm. at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 North Main St., Centerville, OH.
