Hannah May

MAY, Hannah, age 86, passed away on July 24, 2024 in Fairborn, Ohio. Born on June 12, 1938, in West Liberty, Kentucky, Hannah spent most of her life enriching the community of Fairborn, where she also completed her education, graduating from Fairborn High School, class of 1956 and later graduating from Antioch University, Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Hannah retired as the Director of Patient Accounts at Community Hospital in Springfield, Ohio, also dedicating years of service to the Fairborn Library, reflecting her lifelong love of reading. An avid reader and animal lover, she had a particular fondness for her cats and also enjoyed her music, especially Willie Nelson and Dwight Yoakam.

Hannah was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James (Jim) Ray; her parents Sylvester & Thelma (Henry) May, her brother Henry Lee May, her sisters Clarice Fultz and Avanelle Mayton. She leaves behind a loving family including her brother Darrell May; her daughter, Diane Williams; her sons, Kevin, David, and Kerry Sizemore; and numerous grandchildren, great-children, great-great grandchildren across Ohio and out West.

A private ceremony will be held to honor Hannah’s life. Routsong Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time. Hannah’s warmth, compassion and indelible spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
