Harold was a National Sales Manager and Engineer retiring in 1993 from Universal Tool Co. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Floridis Tolnitch; 3 children, Dr. Lisa Tolnitch, of Raleigh, NC, Amy Tolnitch and husband, Jeff Rohr, of Cincinnati; and son, George G. Tolnitch, of Dayton; granddaughter, Styrling Rohr, of Cincinnati; also two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Church, of New York and Marian Lewis, of FL; plus many nieces and nephews and friends. Harold graduated from Rome Free Academy in Rome, NY, Princeton University and Lemoyne College. He served as a paratrooper, in the Eleventh Airbourne Unit in South Pacific during WWII and the occupation of Japan. He was chosen as the personal guard of General MacArthur for the first entry of American Troops into Japan and the previous signing of the treaty between the United States and Japan. The family wants to extend thanks to Kettering Hospital Nurses, Dr. Brown and Dr. Singer, and the support of Hospital Chaplain, Sandy. They also would like to thank his home care nurse aides for their loving care; Interim Health Care, Bill Webb, personal nurse; and long time physician, Dr. C.S. Kadakia. Harold fought many health battles for the past eight years, and survived all of them until now. His wife told him it was his training as a paratrooper in WWII that made him such a survivor.
