Harry Carol Enslein

On the afternoon of October 15, 2014, Harry Carol Enslein, retired Army Captain, passed away peacefully in the company of family at Kettering Memorial Hospital. Harry was born in Cincinnati, OH, November 18, 1938, the only child of the late Dr. Arthur S. Enslein and Bertha (Bachman) Enslein. Harry was a captain in the US Army, both active duty and reserves, from 1962-1969, stationed in both the United States and Germany. He was a career CPA, employed for 40 years at the Mead Corporation in Dayton, and active in the Ohio Society of CPAs serving in various positions including president of the local chapter. He was a longtime past member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Dayton, OH and a current member of Incarnation Catholic Church in Centerville, OH, where he served on both the Parish Council and Finance Committees. Harry was a Fourth Degree Knight in Council 14506 of the Knights of Columbus. He was also active on the Goodwill Easter Seals-Radio Reading Service board and a multitude of other organizations within the community. Harry attended Xavier University, earning a B.S. in Accounting, an MBA, and an honorary Doctor of Durability. While at Xavier, he became a devoted Musketeer basketball fan and spent many years cheering on his beloved Muskies at the Cintas Center. Harry is survived by his loving wife Marilou (Schneider) Enslein; his son Michael; his daughter Kathleen (David) Fox; his son Erick (Terri); his nine grandchildren: Andrew, Sophia, and Olivia Enslein; Duncan, Margaret, and Elizabeth Fox; Haley, Madeleine and Eric Carter Enslein, and many other dear family members and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, October 20th from 4-8pm at Routsong Funeral Home in Centerville, Ohio at 81 N. Main St., Centerville, OH 45459. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Incarnation Catholic Church in Centerville, Ohio. Father Lawrence Mierenfeld will officiate. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a memorial donation to The Franciscan Friars Province of St. John the Baptist, Cincinnati, OH, Goodwill Easter Seals-Radio Reading Service of the Miami Valley or The Anthenaeum of Ohio.
