Harry Clay Kiefaber

September 15, 1922 — October 20, 2003

KIEFABER, Harry C., “Hank”, died on Monday, October 20, 2003 at Walnut Creek Nursing Home. Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Harry J. Kiefaber, his mother, Jane (Huffman) Kiefaber, and his sister, Harriett Connelly. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Caroline Young Kiefaber; sons, Harry J. (Beth) and Clay H. (Leslie) Kiefaber; daughter, Elizabeth (Bruce) Reger; and grandchildren, Jamie, Molly, Libby, Zachary and Grant Kiefaber and Madison and Sam Reger. During his teen years he and his father built and raced outboard motor boats. Upon graduating from Oakwood High School, he entered the Army Air Corps and flew Weather Recon missions through 1944. He then entered the University of Wisconsin graduating in 1948. He was a member of Psi Upsilon Fraternity. After retiring from Federal Mogul Corp. Hank and Caroline moved to Pinehurst, NC in 1979. He was a very active volunteer, served on a number of boards and played lots of golf and tennis. He was a member of the Tin Whistles and the Sandhills Country Club as well as the Pinehurst Country Club. His family would like to thank ALL of the people at Walnut Creek for their constant care. They are also grateful to Hospice for their excellent care. Private services will be held at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, contributions could be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. Condolences may be sent via the website at www.routsong.com.
