age 90, of Oakwood, died Monday, July 23, 2001. Born October 11, 1910 in East Jordan, Michigan, he attended the Principia School in Saint Louis, Missouri, was a 1932 graduate of the University of Michigan Engineering School, and attended that University’s Law School. As a boy, he began working each summer for his father’s company, Price Brothers Company; he became its chief executive officer in 1969, and retired in 1975 as Vice Chairman after fifty years with the company. He attended Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a member of Moraine Country Club, Miami Valley Hunt and Polo Club, and the Buz Fuz Club. He was a charter member of the Dayton-Montgomery County Park District Commission (now Five Rivers Metroparks), serving for 27 years from 1963 when the district was founded. He was president of the board of trustees of the Dayton Art Institute for eight years, and served on the boards of directors of area organizations including Duriron Company, Winters National Bank & Trust Co., Citywide Development, and the Sinclair College Foundation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, who died May 27, 2001; a brother, Gayle B. Price, and a sister, Margaret Deebach. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela and her husband, George Houk, of Oakwood; two sons, H. Steele Price III and his wife, Valerie, of Scottsdale, Arizona and Marlay B. Price and his wife, Gina, of Versailles, Ohio; by a half brother, Thomas Price, of Dallas, Texas and a half sister, Susan Parker, of West Palm Beach, Florida; and by five grandchildren and two great-grand-children. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, 33 West Dixon Avenue, Oakwood, with The Rev. Melody Williams officiating and The Rev. Gordon Price assisting. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Dayton Art Institute, 456 Belmonte Park North, Dayton, OH 45405-4700; Five Rivers Metroparks, 1375 E.
