Harry Stergios Nikides

age 94 of Dayton, died Thur., November 9, 2000 at his home. Mr. Nikides immigrated from Greece when he was 16 years old, spent a year in France and several years in New York before coming to Dayton. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, Archon of the Greek Orthodox Church and served on the Parish Council for 12 years and as president for 2 years. Mr. Nikides established Nikides Furriers in 1931 and retired after 43 years. He was a member of the Masonic St. John's Lodge; Scottish Rite, AHEPA, and the Tawasi Club. Preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary in 1976. Survived by a son, Stergios Nikides of DeBary, FL; 3 daughters, Aglaia O'Quinn Graham of Nashville, TN, Thalia Becak of Palm Springs, FL, and Joanne Nikides of Lake Worth, FL; 7 grandchildren, Harry S. Nikides of Zionsville, IN, Robert Nikides of Carol Stream, IL, Koren Miller of Snellville, GA, Mary Lynn Hewitt of Lake Mary, FL, William O'Quinn of Wilson, NC, John Sempeles of Ft. Worth, TX and Harry Sempeles of Lake Worth, FL; and 11 great grandchildren, Lauren, Nicholas, Alyssa, Ross, Ryley, Cory, Brittany, Rebecca, Alexander, Juliette, and Clarissa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M, Monday at the Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park N., Dayton with Fr. Stratton Dorozenski officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00 P.M., Sunday with 7:30 P.M. prayers in the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
