DUNGAN, Harvey H., 90 of Springfield, IL, died on Monday March 19, 2018. Harvey was born October 19, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio the son of Charles H. Dungan and Lydia Schmidt Dungan. He married Helen Pancake on February 11, 1949 in Dayton
Harvey served his country during WWII with US Army Transportation Corps and was assigned to the Pacific Theater, Japan reconstruction. He had a 50-year career with the National Cash Register Corporation (NCR) Dayton, Ohio. His career took him to postings throughout the country in leadership positions.
He was a life-long gifted athlete, he excelled in all sports but especially bowling and golf. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. Harvey was known for his dry wit and sense of humor and was a humble man who enjoyed his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, daughter Connie Dungan Sommers, granddaughter Stacey Sommers, and grandson Brian Dungan.
Harvey is survived by: his sons, Steven (Linda) of Dublin, OH, Daniel (Carolyn) of Springfield, IL and Donald of South Lake, TX; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One brother survives, Charles (Ron) Dungan of Lady Lakes, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation www.diabetes.org. Visitation Friday, 5-7:00pm, March 23, 2018, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
