Helen Bowman Purvis

PURVIS, Helen Bowman age 72, of Thousand Sticks, KY formally of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston W. and Nannie J. (Baker) Bowman, her husband, James Purvis, 3 infant children, 3 brothers, Elmer, Arnold and Fenix Bowman, 3 sisters, Cynthia Bowman, Florida Gabbard and Ellen McQueen. Survivors include her children, Dennis Purvis Sr. of Hillsboro, OH, Arnold Purvis of Sand Gap, KY, Kenneth Purvis of Hyden, KY James Purvis of Dayton, OH, Ester Lewis of Hyden, KY, Jacqueline Brummett of Tyner, KY, Diane Purvis, Sandra Purvis and Roberta Rice all of Hyden, KY. She is also survived by two brothers, John and Walker Bowman both of Morrill, KY and a grandson that she raised, Eldon Turner. Helen was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at 12:00 noon at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave. Burial will be in Bearcreek Cemetery.
