Helen Elizabeth Hayes

HAYES, Helen Elizabeth (nee Tatum), passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018, after living on this Earth for 101 years. She is preceded in death by her husband Grady E. Hayes, her son William C. Phelps, her nephew Jordan Schuster, her great-grandson Brenden, and her cousin Marty Robinson and husband Jim Robinson, She was a member of Christ Methodist Church in Kettering, Ohio. She retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base in 1980 after twenty five years of service. Helen was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter Marsha Engle and loved one Tony, son Randall Phelps, and step-sons Dale Phelps and Richard Phelps; by her niece, Robbie Nash and husband Jim; cousin Georgeanna Elington and husband Jim; by grandchildren, Kevin Phelps, Melanie Blessing and husband Tim, Daniel Phelps and wife Sherie, Ransome Phelps, Jeremy Schuster and wife Stephanie, and Melissa Schuster. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Nicholas Blessing and loved one Amberly, Daniel Regan Phelps, Hannah, Tabatha, Tyler, Austin, Amya, Rylee, Kamden and Kayliegh; and wonderful best friend Lois Rush who stood by her through it all, plus many other relatives and friends. I know she would like to thank all her Eastern Star and Masonic friends and everyone at the Masonic Campus who have been such a help to her. She will be missed. Christian Funeral and Eastern Star services to be held at 10am on Tuesday, May 8 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering with a visitation one hour prior (9-10:00 am). Burial at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Rt. 48 Centerville, Ohio. Pastor Stephen Berry officiating. In lieu of flowers, Helen has asked that monetary donations go to Shriners Burns Institute, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229, in memory of her nephew Jordon. Flowers will die in a short time, but children at the Institute can live through your gifts
