Helen M Shackelton

SHACKELTON, Helen M., age 78, of Kettering, OH, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Kettering Medical Center. She was a past member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Metaline Falls High School in Washington State. Helen was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. She was an active member of PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) and past member of 20th Century Flyers. Helen volunteered as an office worker at Fairmont Presbyterian Church and volunteered her clerical services at Buckeye Fabricating Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis R. Shackelton; son, Donald Perkins and brother, Donald Miles. Helen is survived by her children, Teri (Richard) Macaulay of Oakwood and their children, Justin and Taylor; Kim (Michael) Saylor of Apex, NC and their children, Jessica, Jordan and Corey; Bruce Perkins of Kennewick, WA and his daughter, Lindsey (Matt) Vlasman; 2 great grandchildren, Olivia and Ronan; daughter-in-law, Elba Perkins and her son, Dustin; brother, Robert (Judy) Miles and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Rev. Dr. Robert Wade officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to PEO Foundation, PEO International, 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, Iowa 50312 in memory of Helen M. Shackelton, Chapter AN, Dayton, OH.
