Henrietta "Hank" Farrow of Kettering, OH passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Monday, April 20, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Farrow and Anna Wallingford Farrow, her fianc, who passed away during WWII, and a beloved younger sister, Martha Jane Farrow. Born in Maysville, KY on June 14, 1922, Hank was a real go-getter for her time.
She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and went on to hold many impressive positions throughout her career. Working in the Air Force Logistics Command at WPAFB, she later assisted in writing the Department of Defense policies for providing government property to contractors and was instrumental in Project 60.
As Chief of the Industrial Division, she became a world-traveler to notable places, such as Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Korea, Spain, and England. Receiving many awards and honors, she was nominated for Air Force Woman of the Year. In her 92 years, Hank belonged to many groups and organizations, including Daughters of the American Revolution, Dayton Country Club, the Republican Women of Oakwood, and The Dayton Woman's Club.
She will be remembered for her loyalty, generosity, soft-spoken nature, and the love and support she showed her friends.
She is survived by her daughter-like companion and adored caretaker, Joy House of Centerville, OH.
A gathering of friends will take place on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 2:00-2:30 p.m., with a service to follow at 2:30pm at Woodland Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Avenue in Dayton.
