VOLLMAN, Herman E., age 78 of Kettering, passed away on September 18, 2006 in the care of his devoted wife after a long, hard battle with pulmonary disease. On September 20th the couple would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Herman was born in Dayton to Irene and Herman Vollman, attended St. Mary’s elementary school, graduated from Chaminade High School in 1946, was a resident of Greenmont Village for 54 years and gave 32 years of civil service at WPAFB and DESC. Herman was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ron Rice. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; son, Michael of Bowling Green, KY; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Douglas Miller of Dayton; 2 sisters, Gertrude Mitre and Irene (David) Scherer; 3 grandchildren, Cara (Alex) Rodriguez, Lindsay (Jon) Guinther and Zachary Miller; 2 great-grandchildren, Angelo and Alexis Rodriguez; sister-in-law, Becky Barnett and numerous other beloved family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. Helen’s Parish, 5086 Burkhart Rd., Dayton with Father Dave Brinkmoeller officiating. Entombment will be in David’s Mausoleum. Herman’s family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Helen’s Parish, 5086 Burkhart Rd., Dayton, OH 45431. Condolences may be sent to the family via the internet on www.routsong.com
