Hester Dray

DRAY, Hester Wooten, 84, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at her home. Hester was born the second youngest to a family of eight brothers and sisters. She married and moved her family to Dayton in 1948. After working in various occupations, she retired from the food and beverage industry in 1985. Hester was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, and her son-in-law, Lewis Hickey. She is survived by her son, Ron Smith and his wife, Joy; daughter, Judy Hickey; sisters, Mae Whittaker, Helen Moore, Wilma Allen and husband, Hugh; granddaughter, Krista Smith and great-grandson, Spencer Smith; Jolene Blatz, longtime, "second daughter" to the family and many, many nieces and nephews spread across the U.S. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Evangelist Michael Hardin officiating. Hester's family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 5-8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery in Beavercreek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
