age 93, of Kettering, formerly of Columbus, OH and Ashland, KY, passed away, Wednesday, December 4, 2002 at Miami Valley Hospital. Homer was a resident of Lincoln Park Manor. He was a veteran of WWII and served during the Battle of the Bulge. Homer worked for C&D and Germann Bros. Trucking in Ripley, OH as a truck driver. He was retired from North American Aviation (Rockwell) in Columbus, OH. Homer was the past commander of the American Legion Post 182 in Columbus and Boy Scout leader in Ripley. Preceded in death by his wife, Nina; two sisters, Marie Gioia and Charlotte Collins; brother, Hager Crank. Survived by his son, Stephen (Brenda) Homer Crank of Kettering; three grandchildren, Andy (Carrie) Crank, Adam and Dan Crank; four step-grandchildren, Todd, Matthew and Nick Ayers, Michelle (Rob) Cundiff ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 4:30 PM, Sunday, December 8, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor Brian Bennett officiating. Burial in East Ashland Memorial Gardens, Ashland, KY at 11:30 AM, Monday. Family will greet friends from 2-4:30 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Lincoln Park Manor for their special care of Homer.
