Howard Edmund Beck Jr.

BECK, Howard E. Jr., age 82, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at Walnut Creek Nursing Home. Howard was a longtime member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and served on the finance committee for many years. He was a 1938 graduate of Fairview High School. Howard served in the Naval Air Corp. as a Lt. JG during WWII. He received his undergraduate degree in business and finance from Miami University. After the war, he joined his father in the Beck Insurance Agency. Howard was a qualifying member of the Million Dillar Round Table many times and was respected by his clients, his peers and the companies he represented. Howard was also a member of the Centerville Lion's Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Viola Beck and nephew, David Beck. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Doris Beck; son, John (Bridget) Beck and their children; Adam, Jay and Brent, son, Dan (Kathy) Beck and their children; Kelly, Jenny and Brian, daughter, Laurie (Jeff) Hyatt and their children; Casey and Ali; brother, Robert (Ellen) Beck; nieces, Jane Klieve and Margaret Neff and nephew, Matthew Beck. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, February 8, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Southminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Jongewaard officiating. Burial in David's Cemetery.Family will greet friends from 9:30-11:00 AM at the church. In memory of Howard, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
