Howard K. Waker, Sr.

WAKER, Sr., Howard K., age 83, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011. Howard graduated from ChaminadeJulienne High School. Howard was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1956. He was a manager of a grocery store for many years and then retired from Commonwealth/Monumental Life Insurance Company. Howard was a long time member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church and was a member of North Dayton Anglers and Gun Club. Preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Craver) Waker; parents, Joseph and Genevieve Waker; 7 brothers and 1 sister. Howard is survived by daughters Dawn Lowman, Cindy White; son Howard "Skip" (Chinh) Waker, Jr.; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jamie) Fisher, Christina (Bobby) Morgan, Kelsey White and Kim Le Waker; great-grandchildren, Beth Morgan, Zack Morgan, Reese Fisher, Bobby Morgan; numerous nieces, nephews and special friend Juanita Price. The family will greet friends from 11:00am-1:00pm on Monday, May 23, 2011 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. Contributions may be made in Howard's honor to the American Heart Association, Miami Valley Division, 1313 W. Dorothy Lane, Kettering, OH 45409.
