Howard L. Jackson

JACKSON, Howard L., age 67, of Miami Township passed away suddenly Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born January 6, 1937 in Van Buren Township (Kettering). Howard retired from the City of Kettering as a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor with 36 ½ years of service, and most recently from the Washington Township Fire Maintenance Department with 10 ½ years of service. He was an avid U.D. Basketball fan and an outstanding AA softball player for Connells Café and Dixie Bowl for many years. Howard was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who loved his family above all else. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Helenlee (Shelby) with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 9th. Also by his daughter, Susan (Rob) Andrews; 2 sons, Michael (Cindy) Jackson, and James (Gretchen) Jackson; 11 grandchildren ; 1 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Shirley Rohrback, Jeanette Russell and Betty Hollon; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering with Father Gary Aultz celebrating. Burial in David’s cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30-11:30 AM prior to the services at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. The family requests that friends dress in informal attire.
