Howard W. Shimer

SHIMER, Howard W., age 82, formerly of Kettering, OH, passed away March 20, 2005, in Westerville, OH, after a brief illness. He was employed by GM/Delco Products for 35 years. Howard was a member of the Ohio School for the Deaf Alumni Association, Fraternal Society of the Deaf #8 and Agape Assembly of God Deaf Church. He was preceded in death in 1991 by his son, Gordon Shimer and wife, Mary Shimer in 2004. Howard is survived by 2 nieces, Darlene Hutzel of Broken Arrow, OK, and her family and Belinda Inman of Austin, TX, and her family; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Shimer and Monica Thomas, both of Dayton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Rev. Michael D. Weldon officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00 – 1:00 PM prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Agape Assembly of God Deaf Church, 419 Fountain Ave, Dayton, OH 45405 or Columbus Colony Housing, 1165 Colony Dr., Westerville, OH 43081.
